Sunday School

While the elders are sitting in Church, participating in the worship services, all the children, from age four to sixteen, troop up the stairs to the parish hall.  After all, listening to grown-up proceedings is hard! 

So, they join the Sunday School services - specially tailored to hold the toddler’s attention and answer the tween’s questions.  Here they shout to the Lord (loudly!), enthusiastically sing praises and learn to sing to the Lord a new song.  Sometimes off-key, sometimes surprisingly tuneful!  Moreover, we all pray - because children hold a special place in the heart of our Lord Jesus.  Then we study from the Word of God—the Bible.  The Hindi Sunday School follows the CNI lectionary for its lessons.  The English Sunday School uses the CEEFI courses.  All of this, interspersed with fun activities. 

We also lead the worship services of the church when invited, and participate in special days and during seasons, such as Palm Sunday, Christmas, and Easter. 

If your child is not yet part of the Sunday School, we welcome them to join at the earliest opportunity.  We have a dedicated team of prayerful teachers - often successful professionals in their secular careers, who consider it a privilege to come week after week and spend time nurturing the future ecclesia (church) in the knowledge and love of Christ.  Currently, the team consists of Mr Luke, Dr Lucky Chandekar, Ms Stella Miller, Mr Gaurab, Mrs Shanthi Pratap, Mrs Dimple Buck, Mr Joseph Emmanuel, and Ms Mahima Mall.

So, next time you see a crowd of around 70 - 80 children, thundering up (or down) the stairs on a Sunday, you know where they are going!
